The decision to become a Bearer for The Horse Medicine feels like a natural extension of my work and my love for horses. Now that I have completed the training, I want to contribute to the mission of The Horse Medicine Women based on my own experience and approach to my work.
For me, the healing power of horses lies in the awareness they bring to an encounter. I experience them as sensitive, conscious beings, with their own wisdom, presence, and choices. Being with them invites us to feel what is going on inside us: what our bodies are telling us, where we hold tension, and whether what we show on the outside aligns with what we experience on the inside. When we are willing to listen, space can open up for honesty, connection, and a deeper trust in our own inner knowing.
The horses’ freedom is essential to this. They shape the encounter in their own way, even when they choose to keep their distance. I see it as my role to create space for that encounter and to remain curious about what unfolds, without jumping to conclusions about what it means.
As a practitioner of The Horse Medicine, I combine systemic and shamanic work with body awareness and my connection to nature. I enjoy contributing to a community that honors horses as conscious beings. In doing so, I continue to learn from them and offer this work with warmth, attention, and both feet firmly on the ground.
